Act on Gun Control Now

We need stronger gun regulation now. This is an issue of public health and safety. Here are some steps you can take to help this happen!

Take action on these upcoming bills aimed at loosening regulation:

  • Contact your member of Congress and tell them to vote no on the SHARE Act (HR3668). This bill rolls back decades-old restrictions on gun silencers and may be voted on this week. Silencers make it harder for law enforcement and bystanders to detect where gunfire is coming from and to react in an emergency situation. This bill also makes it harder for federal authorities to regulate armor-piercing bullets, making the sale of these bullets easier.
  • Say no to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (HR38/S446). This bill, which is coming up in the next few months, will mean that residents of any state where people are allowed to carry concealed firearms will now be allowed to carry concealed firearms in all states without any additional background checks of any kind. Contact your member of Congress and tell them to vote no on this bill.

Relaxing commonsense gun safety precautions is the last thing we need. Learn more about these two bills.

Add your name to a petition for commonsense gun control

Join your fellow citizens to urge our leaders to act, including:

  • Banning civilian ownership of weapons designed for warfare
  • Closing the gun show loophole
  • Creating certificates of ownership for firearms, similar to automobiles, which should be governed by similar regulations, including the need for training, testing, and insurance

Help ban bump stocks

Contact your member of congress and ask them to join Senator Feinstein to call for a ban on bump stocks. This device turns a semi-automatic weapon into an automatic weapon by enabling it to fire continuously, but without the required regulation that normally accompanies automatic weapons. It is thought that this is what the killer in Las Vegas used.
