Are you Comfortable at the Capitol?

There are just four weeks left of the 2019 Legislative session. It’s crunch time at the MN Legislature. This week the House and the Senate are finishing their budget omnibus bills - deciding what provisions are in and which ones are out. Once this is done, the conference committees (made up of representatives appointed from the House and the Senate) will work to knock the various budget omnibus bills into a shape that everyone agrees on. Meanwhile both are taking floor votes on bills that are not included in these omnibus bills.

This is an exciting time to be at the Capitol and to be in touch with your legislators, or conference committee members (once we know who they are). You can sit in on committees, conference committees and floor votes. You can call, email, meet up with your legislators or conference committee members making decisions and let them know what bills and provisions are important to you, your community, the people you care about.

And if you are unsure where things are at the Capitol - the House and Senate chambers, how to attend a committee hearing, where to find your legislator, - we have two more Women’s March MN-led tours of the State Capitol, Senate and State Office buildings. We would love to show you around!
