Inaugural Time to Act – made friends and important calls to policymakers

TIME TO ACT.jpg

Hear that sound? It’s democracy zooming into action. Tuesday night from 6-7pm, a group of Women’s March MN members took Time to Act. We met via Zoom. We introduced ourselves. It felt great to hear the voices of women. We made sure everyone was confident with the technology and the process and we got down to work.

We outlined and acted upon four bills. A host introduced a bill or action, talked about what we wanted to have happen with it and how we could make that happen. Most often the answer is contact a policymaker. We shared contact info for key people and shared a script to use via phone or email. Then we muted ourselves while we made our contacts. When everyone was done, we reconvened – shared a group high five and repeated the process with the next bill or action.

Couldn’t be with us? It’s not too late. Below are documents we used to introduce bills, including contact info and scripts. Please, if you have a minute check them out make a call.

A big thank you to everyone who joined today. It was fun. It felt good and useful. We’re planning to host Time to Act every other Tuesday. Next session is April 6 and you’re invited. Register now!
