Spotlight on Democracy - Protect Voting Rights
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Jan 6th on the steps of the MN State Capitol for Spotlight On Democracy. On the first anniversary of last year's failed right-wing attack on Congress, Minnesotans gathered in sub-zero temperatures to say NO to attacks on our democracy, to efforts to delegitimize our election process, and to bills aimed at suppressing people's right to vote!
Big thanks to all the speakers, to the MN Indivisible groups who organized the event, and also to everyone who volunteered with us as marshals on the night.
Whether you could make the event or not, here are two things to do NOW to help ensure our elected officials keep fighting to defend democracy and to protect voting rights for ALL.
Federal-level action (only takes 2 minutes) to ask Senators Smith and Klobuchar to continue to fight for voter rights
State-level action (again takes 2 minutes) to tell state senators and representatives to protect our voting rights
Last year, more than 360 voter suppression bills were introduced in 47 states in the U.S., including in MN. Thank you for taking action on this important issue!
