Third Thursdays: Police Accountability at the MN Legislature
We are very excited to have this opportunity to hear from Rep Mariani on this critically important subject. Time is running out and the special session starts Monday.
So join us for a special, off-cycle Third Thursdays - TOMORROW (6/11), 6:00 - 7:00 pm - with Rep. Carlos Mariani (St. Paul), chair of the House Public Safety committee. Rep Mariani will speak about the final stages of negotiations on police accountability measures to be included in the Public Safety omnibus bill, and what we as activists can do to help move things forward.
These police reform and accountability bills are long overdue. They have been vetted by community leaders, ushered through committees by the POCI Caucus, and are ready for passing by the DFL. But the GOP keeps blocking them, playing a race-baiting political game with Minnesotans’ lives and the safety of our communities. We've already waited way too long!
The MN leg special session begins on Monday, June 14. Now is the time to raise our voices!
This Third Thursdays event is virtual and free, and it’s organized by our friends at Indivisible St. Paul and Indivisible Minnesota Legislative Action. All are welcome! We hope to see you there.
