Third Thursdays - Virtual GOTV Phone Bank
There are just five weeks until the elections, and early voting starts in a few days (Sept 18th). Join us this Thursday to Get Out The Vote for early voting and voting by mail! And if the thought of phone banking makes you nervous, or you’re a first timer, this is a great subject to call people about.
When: Thursday, Sept. 17, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Where: your place
You’re invited to participate in a digital Third Thursdays phone bank! Join us on September 17th at 6:00 pm as we call high propensity progressive Minnesota voters and encourage them to vote, either by mail-in-ballot or early at the polls. If they don’t know how easy it is to vote from home, well, we’ll let them know that. And how to do it!
Register in advance for this meeting!
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. We’ll liven up proceedings with a bit of social time and games. First time phone bankers are especially welcome!! And bring your extroverted friend!
Advantages of voting early and by mail:
It’s safe and secure in MN
It helps contain the spread of the virus.
It helps avoid lines and back up at the polls in metro areas.
It encourages voter participation.
It updates in the Voter File which helps candidates know who has already voted, so candidates can work on persuading remaining swing voters.
We’ll meet and greet at 6:00 pm. Then from 6:15 we’ll get trained on the scripts. And at 6:30 we’ll open the Virtual Phone Bank and call into districts where encouraging voting by mail or voting early will have the greatest impact.
The events are open to the public - all are invited to join!
Women’s March Minnesota is a partner organization in the MNLeg Coalition which is putting on this event.
