Transportation: Let’s Get You There!
Transit
METRO Green Line has three convenient stations serving the Capitol Complex: Capitol/Rice Street, Robert Street and 10th Street stations. There are also bus routes that serve the area, plan your trip using the helpful tools on the Metro Transit website or call the Transit Information Center at (612) 373-3333 and they can design a route tailored to your transportation needs.
Public Parking
Do something good for the environment and remember to carpool with your friends and family who are also attending the march. There are a number of public parking options for those visiting the State Capitol Complex. Parking maps can be found on the State of Minnesota's website and includes parking information for those with disabilities and bike parking information.
IMPORTANT: No march parking is allowed at St. Paul College or on John Ireland Boulevard for the march. In addition, no parking is allowed in state parking lots H, I, and J. No parking will be available at the Centennial Parking Ramp due to another event.
Ridesharing Drop-off/Pick-up Location Landmarks
If you are using a ridesharing service, a landmark location for drop-off could be near the Cathedral of St. Paul (239 Selby Ave) for the rally and start of the march. For pick-up after the event a landmark location could be the MN National Guard Armory (600 Cedar Street).
Accessibility for All
Accessibility is a key to ensuring all community members are able to participate in this event. Here are a couple key things to know:
An ADA section will be located directly in front of the stage and will be open to those who require it.
American Sign Language interpretation will be provided at the Capitol during the program.
An ADA drop-off/pick-up area is located at Cedar Street and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard at the Aurora Promenade.
Wheelchair accessible porta-potties will be available at the rally site at St. Paul College and at the Capitol.
Landfill Reduction: No Time For Trash
To show our commitment to the environment, the People’s March is striving for a zero-waste event. If you bring it, please remove it and recycle/compost. There are no trash receptacles available at the rally site, along the march route and at the Capitol.
Pets: We Love Them, Let’s Keep Them Safe
To make this a safe event for all participants and for your pet’s safety, please leave pets at home. We love pets but with big crowds, noise and Minnesota weather, this may be a challenging environment for them and not all cultures have the same comfort level with animals. Of course, service animals are welcome.
Weather: Nobody Controls Mother Nature
This is Minnesota, in January, and nobody controls Mother Nature. Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear allowing you to stay warm and dry for up to three hours.
Food/Beverage
There will be no food/beverage vendors at the rally site, along the march route or at the Capitol. Please bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to keep you going for the event. Better yet, stop by a locally owned restaurant and spread the love!
Portble toilets
Portable toilets that are wheelchair accessible will be available at the rally site and at the Capitol. Restroom are accessible inside the Capitol from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, as well.
